Learn any song, one slow loop at a time.

That solo is too fast to catch? Slow it down without changing its pitch, loop the bar that trips you up, and bring it back up to speed as your fingers learn it.

This demo plays notes your browser makes on the spot. Muserno does the same to real recordings: any song file on your computer.

Slow down, same pitch

From 30% to 200% speed, and the song stays in its key. Hear every note of a fast run.

Shift the pitch

Move a song up or down by semitones and fine-tune it in cents: match a tuned-down guitar or your vocal range.

Loops and markers

While it plays, press L at the start and again at the end to loop a passage, S to save it, M to drop a marker.

Metronome

Beat lights, tap tempo and time signatures, right under the track, with or without the recording.

Chromatic tuner

Tune up before you play, with your Mac's or PC's microphone or your audio interface.

Record yourself

Record takes over the track with a count-in, listen back, and hear how close you are. Your takes stay on your computer.

Simplified or Advanced

Keep the track big with the tools in one row, or lay out Tuner, Metronome, Playlist and Recorder side by side. In light or dark, like your computer.

Playlists

Keep the songs you're working on in named lists, each with its own speed and volume.

How it works

A practice session in Muserno

Open a song

Pick an audio file from your computer. Muserno keeps its own copy in its library, so it's there next time even if you move the original.

Find the hard part

Play it through and press M where each section starts. At the passage you want to learn, press L at its start and again at its end: it loops. S saves the loop for next time.

Slow it down

Pick 50, 60 or 70% under Speed, or go as low as 30%, until you can play along cleanly. The pitch doesn't move, so you can still play in the song's key.

Speed back up, step by step

Each time the loop feels easy, raise the speed a little. Turn the metronome on to keep your timing honest.

Record and compare

Record yourself over the loop and listen back. When it sounds right at 100%, move on to the next section.
